Trenton & Trevor

I made myself sleep in today to at least 6:45am. I may have woken up afew times from 4am on, but I was determined to sleep in.

Everyone had plans today, so I figured maybe I'd take off on a bike ride or hike. I finally got up and made myself coffee and breakfast at 7. Around 7:30 and two cups of coffee later one of the twins Trevor texted me from the other room to tell me about a bike trail close by. So I looked up the trail and it was about 15 miles. Graduation wasn't until 6pm, so I had a whole day to kill, maybe I could do the trail and then a small hike. Well, another thing I wanted to do was compile my videos into one and when I was looking at music tracks I couldn't figure out how to add music that wasn't manufactured default. So here I am now on a mission to figure this out. I'm youtubing, Googling, trying different apps. See, I had a specific song in mind and getting there almost seemed impossible. I literally can geek out on this kind of stuff for hours. Well, and it was hours. Next thing I know it's  now 11:50am and the boys are on their way back from their senior breakfast and even hitting golf balls. Which, for the record I did figure it out what I was trying to do and overall I feel like that was an accomplishment and not fully an unproductive morning, lol. So here we are, they're on their way home, I have not done anything I set out to do and it's noon. They come home and they're like go on your bike ride. Which I could do... or I could take my graduating twin brothers out to lunch and spend some real time with them one on one.

I chose to take them out. We found a little burger joint and just hung out and chatted. It was probably one of the best lunches I had in a while. The burgers were mediocre.  My veggie burger wasn't all that great, but the company was worth it all ten fold.

They're such good guys. They never got into partying, it was never their priority. They played sports. They loved on God. They just did them.

They both received a scholarship from a donating family and another scholarship from the Russian River Rotary Club. On top of those scholarships,  they also received a Lifetine Sports Award and a Lifetine Extracurricular Award. Over the last four years of high school,  they experienced the fires, flooding,  teacher strikes, a pandemic, distant learning and now their class is the last year the school they attended will be open. Their school El Molino High School is closing and the current students after class 2021 will be moved to a different school. That is a whole lot to experience in 4 years!

After lunch, my sister Anika called and said she, along with my niece and nephew were swimming,  so we headed over to hang out for an hour before going back to the house to get ready for the graduation.

Once ready, we all headed for the high school. We had a row of 12 down on the track level. As the boys began to make their way to their seats I ran out to the front row to capture them as I basically did through the whole graduation pertaining to them. There wasn't a single dry eye. It was a magical moment. They are now off at graduation night as I'm writing this and won't get back until 3 or 4am. I'm grateful I was here to see them walk proudly across that stage.
I followed my sister Anika back to her house so I could spend a little more time with her, my niece and nephew. What I hadn't thought about was the fact I was in the country and there is literally no street lighting on the roads. Nights on the road here freak me out. I'd say about 14 years ago, I learned how to drive through a flood at night here when the Russian River overflowed. While it taught me how to maneuver on the road, it wasn't really something I wanted to do again, but driving at night where the only light you see is a car coming from the opposite way.. its literally blinding. End of the story, I got back to the house safe; obviously since I'm sitting here writing this post. Goodnight 🌱💚
